DirectTrust is an association of more than 140 healthcare system s and information-technology organizations. A non-profit collaborative, it supports secure, interoperable information-exchange via Direct message protocols. The “trust framework” extends use of Direct exchange to more than 59,000 healthcare organizations and nearly 1.3 million Direct addresses/accounts. It supports provider-to-provider exchange, as well as bi-directional exchange between patients and providers.
Health Level Seven International (HL7) is organization of healthcare systems, government stakeholders, health plans, pharmaceutical companies, vendors and consulting firms. The non-profit ANSI-accredited organization is dedicated to providing a comprehensive framework and related standards for integration, retrieval and exchange of electronic health information. HL7 has 1,600 members in more than 50 countries, all of us working together to support clinical practice, management, delivery and evaluation.
